A fierce battle broke out. Dog bit the ogres' ankles. Pheasant pecked at
their hands and heads. And Monkey jumped on their backs. But Peach Boy went
straight to the Ogre King.
Once upon a time, an old man and an old woman lived. The old woman went to the river to wash their clothes. One morning, she saw something floating on the water. It was the biggest peach she had ever seen before. She took back it and saw it to the old man. He was surprised! He said "It looks very juicy. Let's eat it!" Then, he started to cut it open. Suddenly , the peach split in two and inside, there was a little boy. The old man and the old woman were surprised by this happening but they were glad because they were not their son. They call him Peach Boy. They said "he can be our son." Peach Boy grew up quickly and he was the strongest, fastest boy in the village. One day, Peach Boy came to a nearby village. The people in the village cried because their jewels were stolen by giant ogres. Peach Boy said "Don't worry." He will get them back. Peach Boy's parents didn't want him to go. But he had made up his mind. So his father gave him sword and his mother gave him six dumplings. He set off for Ogre Island. He walked and he met a dog, a monkey and a pheasant. He went to Ogre Island with them. They arrived there and they fought with Ogres. Then, they won and Ogre gave him back the stolen jewels, and some food to eat. And the four friends went home.
This story is known by Japanese. We call Momotaro. It is easy for me that I read this book. I like this story. Peach Boy is bravery. If I was him, I wouldn't help the people in the village. I think Peach Boy has a warm-hearted. I think I follow a him example. This book is good story! (339)
